What’s in a Name?

Several factors and much prayer went into the decision to call this church plant The Vineyard.  We wanted to have a name that denoted that community was important to us.  We felt like the idea of grape clusters spoke to the emphasis on community that we will be promoting through our small groups.  We also liked the name because it denotes life (grapes attached to the vine are living entities making up a larger living entity, a perfect illustration of the church).  We also liked it a lot because it’s biblical.  Call us crazy, but there’s just something about the Bible that we like, so we figured we could pull our name from the book upon which we are seeking to base everything about the new church.  So there you have it.  Allow me to be the first to introduce you to…
